Let's Advent- part I
Hallo ihr Lieben,
nach einem Haufen von Prüfungen melde ich mich wieder zurück aus dem mittlerweile wirklich kühlen Korea.
Bei den niedrigen Temperaturen kommt auch die traditionell koreanische Bodenheizung zu vollem Einsatz und wir freuen uns über warme Füße. Wo es keine gibt pustet die Klimaanlage heiße Luft in den Räume, so zum Beispiel in unserem Labor :)
In Korea wird die Adventszeit nicht so sehr zelebriert, wie ich es aus meinem Elternhaus kenne- aber einen Hauch von Weihnachten kann man auch hier schon spüren. Und sei es nur wegen der kitschigen Weihnachtsballaden, die im Supermarkt rauf und runter gespielt werden.
Aber dass mir das Kekse/Lebkuchen mampfen, Glühwein schlürfen und stundenlanges Zusammensitzen mit Freunden oder Familie trotzdem fehlt steht natürlich außer Frage.
Gut, dass ich damit nicht alleine bin (siehe Fotos)...

after another pile of exams, here is a new post from winterly Busan...
It has turned a little chilly by now and me and my feet are becoming a big fan of the traditional Korean floor heating, which is working at its maximum these days. In places without heating -such as our lab- air conditioners blow hot and dry air into the rooms to keep it warm and cosy :)
It's December now, meaning the time of 'Advent' has begone and Christmas is coming soon. Unlike I've experienced it in my parents-home, this time is not celebrated here much. But you can still sense a little bit of christmas-atmosphere spreading throughout the city- if it only was because of the colorful christmas accessories or the cheesy christmas songs they play in many shops... Yet, it's out of the question that I miss the "Advent"-evenings shared together with family/friends eating cookies and ginger bread, drinking mulled wine and just talking for hours. Luckily, I wasn't alone with that- as the pictures show.
